Here's a amusing discussion thread that I've seen on other forums. I love it.

Here's how it works. Everytime you watch a program on television, if you watch TV, please post it here. If you wish to discuss some programs, please do.

I do realize that some members live overseas and internationally aboard, that's why this should be fun.

I'll start ...

Last night I watched House, MD.

Taggart, which unfortunately is now down to an hour, not really long enough for a decent plot to unfurl. Great entertainment nonetheless. Looking at the Wikipedia article, I didn't realize it had such a long history...

Just got Season Four of LOST. So now my friends can finally talk to me about it after a viewing. I prefer to wait with this show and to be honest many and watch on DVD. I can't stand commercial breaks and want to know about next weeks answer to cliffhangers B)

I'm not much of a television watcher, but last night PBS aired a superb and fascinating documentary about the iconic television show from the 1960's, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The documentary chronicled the show's constant fight with network censors over controversial issues of the time, Tommy Smothers' increasing foxhole mentality which (he admitted) affected the quality of the humor and music, finally climaxing with the show's cancellation in its fourth season. A fascinating overview of the political and cultural clashes of the 1960's, and a reminder at what excellent musicians/comedians that Tom and Dick Smothers were.

Bruce, I actually went out and bought the box set of the Smothers a while ago. Its great and a nice reminder what a hip show it was at 9.00 pm on Sunday nights. The music alone is a reason to buy. Sadly you don't get every show but you get some classics. I remember back then it was always a fight between watching the Smothers for me and Bonanza for the family. Just to make it clear having more than one TV back then wasn't the norm. Plus we only had the networks to watch not 568 channels as we do now. Funny with 5 stations on the TV programming was always much better. The shows to watch in my humble ancient opinion are Donovan, Ike and Tina Turner and Judy Collins when guests. Regretfully the Beatles and Who dates aren't included. So no Roger from OZ B)

In our family the TV fights primarily involved the battle of Gidget vs. Gilligan's Island. I was somewhat young to appreciate the Smother's Brothers edginess/controversy at the time, but enjoyed watching the show every week. And of course I have The Who's The Kids Are Alright DVD, so I can watch their Smother's Brothers appearance on that. Sometimes I envy you folks who are approximately ten years my senior, as you were the prime age to be taking in all that groovy stuff firsthand while I was listening to "Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron" and watching "Underdog".

Well it wasn't the last TV prog I watched, but during the cross-over from New Year's Eve to New Year's Day I watched Jools Holland's Hootenanny programme on UK TV and among the high-quality music on it (I never expect less from JH) was this catchy song by The Ting Tings. Nice.
