The making of Sgt Pepper by George Martin and Paul McCartney
Odessa-The Bee-Gees, just for Melody Fair
Jacques Brels songs sung by Scott Walker, one of my faves
Alison Krause and Union Station-some sweet blue grass music
The Style Council-singular adventures of The Style Council
Beach Boys at Ann Arbor, MI, 1965 Live..well something to hum along with
Every week I set at least 5 or 6 disc's in the car player and take a single disc each day so I am never bored. Thats it for last week.
I have learnt to never listen to Rossini as one speeds between cars at rush hour. Its truely scary driving music

NOT SO MUCH TO BE LOVED AS TO LOVE - Jonathan Richman
HER NAME IS JULIE - Julie London
SURF'S UP - Beach Boys
LIVE AT THE APOLLO VOLUME TWO - James Brown
LIVE BOOTLEG - Skip Heller
I don't know if I ever posted my top ten of all-time on here or not... I don't know if I could. They change so frequently. It depends on what mood I'm in... but it'd have to include KING OF THE BLUES TROMBONE by Jack Teagarden... and LONE STAR BEER AND BOB WILLS MUSIC by Red Steagall... and ABBEY ROAD and HEY JUDE by the Beatles... and THE BUCK OWENS COLLECTION... and maybe RUST NEVER SLEEPS or TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT by Neil Young...
... but actually, you know what? I'm more inclined to think in terms of filling a jukebox with 100 45s than I am to pick ten ALBUMS. I've always been more of a singles person than an albums person anyway.
My jukebox would start with...
Hey Jude / Revolution -Beatles
I Feel Fine / She's A Woman - Beatles
She Loves You / I'll Get You - Beatles
Twist and Shout / There's A Place - Beatles
The Little Girl I Once Knew / There's No Other (Like My Baby) -Beach Boys
Sail On Sailor / Only With You - Beach Boys
Do You Love Me - Dave Clark Five
Heart - Rockpile
Do Ya / California Man - The Move
On The Wings Of A Nightingale - The Everly Brothers
Wouldn't It Be Nice / God Only Knows - Beach Boys
Caroline No / Summer Means New Love - Brian Wilson
Hey Girl - Freddie Scott
Tell Her About It - Billy Joel
Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats
Sittin' In The Balcony - Eddie Cochran
At The Hop - Danny and the Juniors
The New Girl In School / Deadman's Curve - Jan and Dean
Only Love Can Break Your Heart / Birds - Neil Young
Cold Sweat - James Brown
Walking In The Rain - Ronettes
Crying in the Rain - Everly Brothers
Carolina On My Mind / Something's Wrong - James Taylor
I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do - Abba
You Make Me Feel Brand New - Stylistics
Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder
That Girl - Stevie Wonder
I've Got You Under My Skin - Frank Sinatra
I Want You I Need You I Love You / My Baby Left Me - Elvis Presley
Like A Summer Rain - Jan and Dean
Joanne - Michael Nesmith and the First National Band
... and the list could go on and on... after all, I can fit a hundred 45s into this machine!!
Still trying to find that elusive stock copy of the Beach Boys "Cool Cool Water" b/w "Forever" by the way!!

It's always good to have your favorites! But you have to keep listening to other music at times to tell yourself why your favorites are so special to you

I love Allison Krause's When You Say Nothing At All. Was Scott Walker a member of The Walker Brothers?

I'm with you about Alison Krause, her version of I Will will take you to the stars. Infact her version of Baby, Now That I've Found You is liked by me more than the original. Alison's back up band are superb. Union Station have some of the best players in bluegrass pickings on the circuit
Yes Scott Walker was a member of the Walker Brothers and he handled most of the lead vocals in The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore and Make it Easy on Yourself.
Scott left the other two members and carved out one of the odd yet beautiful career's as a solo artist. There are 4 CD's you can check him out on, the titles are One_ Two_ Three_ Four . Okay he wasn't the most inventive name that album guy. These albums were like Spector with Bill Medly and Bobby Hatfield doing Jaques Brel. In England and Europe he was huge and had cult statis. He wrote or interpreted other writers on his CD's. After these four which truly the best of the bunch he tried to be a bit more cheerful and did a ballard album ala Sinatra. A quick 180 and he put put an album called Climate Of THe Hunter. Its bowie/Roxy music type music a few years before they did it. After that he made two turkeys singing MOR Nashville. Finally he does motion picture soundtracks.
If you'd like MK, I can send you a best of to see if you like it. But as we already know we have similar taste. But Scott is like Brandy, strong and you have to learn to take his songs a little at a time. I can't tell you that the first four albums to me where all home runs. One through three are choice and four is good also but is over-shadowed by the first three. Walker has/had one of the great torch song voices in pop.Let me know Brother Kale
