Beg to differ, but "TIKH" made #4 in the UK, whereas "Barbara Ann" and "Sloop John B" made #3 and #2 respectively. "Wipe Out" made #2 as well.

Though not officially released, Mike also nasaled his way through a cover of "Imagine" as a tribute to John Lennon in 1983:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW5lytPsVUw I think there's a unanimous consensus that Carl would have been much better suited to sing the song (well, ANY Beach Boy would have) ... but it's nonetheless a heartfelt gesture on Mike's part, and you can't fault him for that. |

Video's been pulled. It was 1980, btw. :-) -------------------- I sing the body electric!

Video's been pulled. It was 1980, btw. :-) Was it? I don't think it was, because it was a Seattle Kingdome concert in which Carl also performed "What You Do to Me" and "Rockin' All Over the World" from his Youngblood album. Plus, in the video, Mike was clean-shaven, Brian was thin, and Dennis almost completely gone. Sounds like 1983 to me. |

Interesting - I thought Mike only did that immediately after John was killed, as per Elvis/"Love Me Tender". Thanks for that. -------------------- I sing the body electric!

You're not missing much with the video being pulled, as it was Mike as his nasal greatest (or worst, depending on how you want to look at it). Though, as I said before, I do give Mike props for paying tribute to John, no matter how it sounded. |

I don't think this has been posted before - it's Ersel Hickey's original version of "Bluebirds Over The Mountains"...

I don't think this has been posted before - it's Ersel Hickey's original version of "Bluebirds Over The Mountains"... And how about The Ronettes' own cover of ""So Young"? Great drums! These get thoroughly mocked on the first BB version (a bonus track on the 2fer). Is this Hal Blaine taking the mickey out of himself? There's an entire thread devoted to this song here... -------------------- ![]() The Beard of Love - The story so far... "I don't want to go out. I want to stay in. Get things done."
