Just thought it would be fun to find out what kinds of pets, other domesticated animals, and even wild animals live with everyone.

At present I have tropical fish: Four Goldfish--Henry Jones, Jr. Rhonda, Barbara Ann, and Julius (because he`s orange tongue.gif ).
Three Bettafish--one named Wilson. He calls himself 'a beachbetta' and has his own surfboard. He likes to surf in the goldfish
tank best because it makes the most waves. tongue.gif
Lots of Fancy Guppies. Recently had a batch of 6 babies named Brian, Carl, Dennis, Bruce, Mike, and Al wub.gif (the smallest, he`s finally
growing up.)
I`ve had lots of dogs in the past, most recently a pekingese named 'Gizmo'.

I put out feeders for wild birds and get mostly sparrows, finches, cardinals, red-winged blackbirds, grackles, and starlings. A Blue
Jay shows up every once in awhile. Being Autumn there are a lot of crows about right now.
Other wild animals--squirrels, deer, and raccoons.

Please feel free to include any farm animals you might have, pet plants, pet rocks tongue.gif (boy is that the '70`s) or if you have a
Chia Pet. rolleyes.gif

Aside from a nine-year-old daughter, we have a cat named Mittens who after four years I'm still not sure whether I like or not. The cat is insane and antisocial. Kind of like me at times, actually, so I don't hold that against her. tongue.gif She hasn't left a mouse on the pillow lately, but I've heard a lot of nocturnal activity lately as the weather has gotten cooler, and she hasn't been touching her dry food, so I have to figure...

We also have some fishies in a tank in my husband's music room. He picked them out; I have no idea what kind they are. Two of them are big and black and silver striped with big fins. A couple of them look like goldfish. There's a grumpy-looking brown one that hangs out at the bottom of the tank which I thought was sick at first but apparently he just likes it down there. And two that I thought were piranhas at first, but since they didn't eat all the other ones, I guess not. tongue.gif

Two dogs, part minipin, part chihuahua.

1) Diesel, black, more minipin than chihuahua, nicknamed Snapper by Mark Moderator
2) Bro, white, more chihuahua than minipin, nicknamed Nostradamus by Mark Moderator tongue.gif

Officially, they're my daughter's dogs - only officially, mind... cool.gif

I have 2 dogs. They're both mutts. Oscar is an Airedale/Irish Terrier Mix. Augie is a rottweiler/boxer mix. My parents had a DNA test done on Augie and that's what it said he was. When we first got Augie, my mom and brother thought he might be an airedale/st. bernard mix since he looks like he has a st. bernard body but with the coloring of an airedale.

Before the dogs arrived, we used to have a turtle before he got too big and his aquarium needed daily attention. So off he went to a home for unwanted turtles with a vast aquarium and lots of playmates. smile.gif

And then there were the stick insects. The woman next door offered me three of these fascinating creatures (which her son had been given at school) as an alternative to flushing them down the toilet. blink.gif I bred them for more than a decade - well, actually they bred themselves. They're mono-something-or-other, each of them lays their own eggs without the usual palaver... tongue.gif

At the onset of summer I'd open their glass case under the hedge in the back garden and let them out (at night, otherwise the birds ate the lot). And when it started getting chilly I'd catch three of them. Although on at least one mild Christmas Eve the rest could still be heard munching in the hedge...

Then disaster struck. Due to a breakdown in communcations, the new neighbours ripped out our shared hedge. End of project (although admittedly it was a little too close to playing God for comfort). By a horrific coincidence this was September 11th, 2001...

Now I have a dog (French bulldog), his name's Gabriel biggrin.gif and also a cat Tarzan (he's got this name because he climbed the Christmas tree). The dog's always trying to catch and eat the cat, but unsuccessfully yet... Cat is lucky...

Maxx is my BFF cat. I've got him nine years ago when a friend became engaged to a young woman who didn't like cats (grounds for immediate dismissal, in my opinion). Maxx is a friendly Burmese, light brown, with long fur that he is very generous about leaving on furniture, blankets, and sometimes my food. He sleeps with me every night (under the covers when it's cold) and his favorite game is to hop up on my swivel chair and have me spin him around as fast as I can.

Maxx has inspired me to write music for him, mostly rock and roll songs with their lyrics changed, including this one by the Beach Boys (sung to the tune of "All This is That"):

Little Cat
Gentle Cat
Aaaahhhh Kitty Cat

I love cat, thou love cat
Everybody loves my cat
Aaaahhhh Kitty Cat

Two ears point high
Ten whiskers on each side
And that makes all the difference to me
[I don't know what to do about that "Jai Guru..." part, but it doesn't matter as I cannot hit those notes anyway]

I have 2 Loaches - or 'Bottom Feeders' - in my fish tank.

one is named Dougie after a guy in Brighton that i know...well...he is...

but i don't actually know which is 'Dougie' and which is the Loach With No Name.

I don't want to know...

After George and Mildrid, the liccle dwellers just minding their own business, popped their clogs - or fins, as it were - i find it easier not to name the fish. Not to get too personal, like

I'd put the lyrics of the song I wrote for our cat (Mittens) but this is a family board.

Suffice to say if she leaves ONE MORE half-eaten mouse on the bed, it's back to the pound. laugh.gif

Cats are notorious for keeping the best mouse bits for themselves.
