Which firm of guitar makers did The Ventures make famous? mellow.gif

An alternative question would be:

Name a music-related string with 555 hits on Google... tongue.gif

Hmmmm, that was way too easy for you smile.gif I thought Roger or Max would go for it as both have mentioned the Ventures in their posts, I think ?? Okay I will find something that will take a bit longer to fathom tongue.gif

I do solemnly pledge not to resort to Google at any further time during this quiz. Signed JK.
OK folks, I've upped my pledge - up yours! laugh.gif

O.K... let me try one:

This song is the connection between trumpeter Herb Alpert, Three Dog Night, and Brian-produced girl singer Sharon Marie's record "Thinkin' Bout You Baby."

BZZZZZZZZZZZ! WRONG! laugh.gif

I've forbidden myself to Google on this thread (I must be really losing the plot!), so I've no idea what the Herb Alpert connection is (I won't hazard a guess), but "TBYB" later became "Darlin'" which was first recorded by Redwood (Hutton et al., later Three Dog Night) as produced by Brian but never released, largely thanks to the other BBs.
So my stab at the question to the answer is "What is 'Darlin''?"... [long live the edit button]

NOT IN THE FORM OF A QUESTION!!! laugh.gif

The correct response would be "What is 'Darlin''?"

You had it right, though... and the Herb Alpert connection: Alpert and the TJB also recorded a cover of "Darlin'."

So what that means John , in the commercial Alex chooses if you answered in the form of a question and you might get the money or not. I would have money taken from me as I answered the album it was on and not the correct song tongue.gif

A rare song title used by both Brian Wilson and the Beatles.......?????

This must be one for Viper or BM, don't you think? cool.gif
On the other hand, if nobody else gets the question soon, I shall feeled compelled to Google it, won't I?
(Just getting in a bit of practice, okay?) tongue.gif

This is a tough one, even with Steve Jobs doing his bit.
After literally hours of scouring the internet (including Mr Doe's great site) and the relevant literature (some of it given over to Beatlish things) I fear I am none the wiser. sad.gif

I'm surprised Viper doesn't know... cool.gif

Well, what is the answer-framed-in-the-form-of-a-question then?
Mark
The answer is , what is Revolution/Beatles and with Brian as producer The Revo-lution/,Rachel and the Revolvers... It's a trick question as Brian's track was called The Revo-lution....a 60's dance name and quite a different viewpoint than the Lennon song wink.gif

No wonder it didn't register. I certainly saw "The Revo-Lution" and "Revolution" enough times during my explorations but didn't make the connection. And now I seem to have insulted BM. Well, that's life I suppose. sad.gif

This is my (non-trick) question-framed-in-the-form-of-an-answer:

"Don't think you're God - vibrations... let's go for the record"

And I didn't Google it... smile.gif
Mark
I don't think BM was upset John. I didn't read that in the posts. I also put that question in as it was one even if one knew it , it takes a second or two to match the answer's. Now your question sounds like me after deleting 42 spams smile.gif

This is by way of a diversion only. The answer is:
"The one with the open neck shirt."

When I read the first post, the Mosrite guitar reference, I hestitated to reply because my mind was flooded with a dozen or so seemingly appropriate questions, none of which had anything to do with the Ventures though. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

This topic is a great idea Mark. Open to lots of interpretation and a jolly good bit of fun!!!

Interesting question Mark but aren't we jumping the gun here? Or is "Don't think you're God - vibrations... let's go for the record" too silly for this quiz? cool.gif

The answer (in question form) would be something along the lines of:

What are some of them saying during the talking passage in the Smiley Smile version of "Wonderful"? cool.gif

OK, I'll work on your question now, although it's a madhouse here at present which is why I haven't answered other things. wink.gif

Except technically that's wrong... the answer would be HOLLAND for most (seven) and that NASCAR album for least (three).

No wonder I couldn't figure that one out! laugh.gif

OK... let me try one here:

"This is the first Beach Boys album cover on which Brian appears wearing glasses."

No googling from the studio audience, please. tongue.gif
Mark
The glasses question would be what new fashion event is seen on Stack of Track's ?
I'm going to count Friends as it's got much more than 7 BB's pictures/drawings on the cover..I forgot about Nascar sad.gif Congratulations BM smile.gif

Sorry, boys, no offence meant (and of course none taken laugh.gif ). I was merely thinking about who was actively into pop in those years. Steve is another candidate of course.
Social blunders my speciality. Appy polly loggies to one and all. blink.gif

And now back to business:

The answer/question/whatever might well be:

"What is unique about The Orlons' 1963 US hit 'South Street'?"

How I got there? I googled the following string:

"the word hippies" lyrics

and there it was about six hits down. smile.gif

Sorry for taking so long... laugh.gif
