Yah I expect only the best, and that's what I am 100% sure I'll get. In fact throughout EVERY bump and stumble and roll in the road I have always heard the Beach Boys there to haunt me and make sure I am doing alright. I know it sounds crazy, but I believe it's true....

Thats how I feel about them in the mid 60's. I wonder if a thread telling how they calmed us all down would be a bit too maudlin ????? I don't mind my story as it ties in with Vietnam. But I don't want to bore the other posters if they already know it ????

Not at all.
The only occasion on which The Beach Boys literally calmed me down was during a somewhat panicky few days in late '71. The song in question? "Feel Flows". Thank you, Carl. smile.gif

I agree with John K, it wouldn't bore us! Lol Yah I think they might be my guardian angels. They calm me in every situation. Whatever it may be...

i find that when i have had a bad in work or im a little worried about something i just have to put on pet sounds and it just gives me a warm feel , like being wrapped in cotton wool and that everything seems a lot better smile.gif

Absolutely. It lifts the spirit... smile.gif

Interesting you should mention cotton wool, GOK. Penny Valentine's 1966 review of Pet Sounds in Disc and Music Echo includes the remark that "Each track has that lovely distinctive smothered Wilson sound as though they're all singing through sugar cotton wool." cool.gif
