I started reading Rolling Stone when it first came out as it was the only mag besides Crawdaddy that gave reviews and such without teen viewpoints. I was just reading the 1000 th issue and yes I kept all my old issues up to about 1990 in a safe place as where else could one get Beach Boy and Beatle tidbits with interests ? The cover which is 3-D is really worth a look as it's a tribute to Pepper as they both came into being in 1967, god I was 17 then and still not as fluent in the spelling and use of the english language as MK

Brians on the cover and the famous bit with him and Belushi pulling him out of bed to surf is inside. Brian makes the comment about his weight and how that robe was much more than a prop. But the whole reason you should sneak a peek is for the high school pictures of Brian and other stars inside. If you thought you looked bad in high school check out Flea of the RHCP

Madonna and Sheryl Crow as cheerleader and track star

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is probably the funniest and worth picking the mag up to see that all that is cool now wasn't always cool

Brian, Mick Jagger and a few others look like we all looked then, innocent. Or should I say Brain Willsun
I really read the Stone alot until the 90's and then it was just checking out if there were any articles of folks I liked as it became a skin magazine and truthfully the artists I cared about from my youth weren't what was making it sell anymore. But reading the magazine made me go to my Mothers section of the basement in her house where she KEPT stuff from my teen years rather than throwing it out. Gee Mum, why didn't you keep ALL my comics also ??? She did keep many but not my $50.000 first issue of Spiderman or that $70.000 first edition of the Fantastic Four. She did keep Rolling Stone number one and there was John Lennon on the cover and the rag is in great condition as I read it and it was put in a seamans chest

The Lennon Remembers interview I pulled out and the Great article on the Beach Boys which Ralph Steadman stole their place on the cover. I'm going to walk down memory lane this coming week and read some of these memories.

Well if you don't buy it , no sweat but try to check out the high school fold out as you'll never feel as bad about your pictures after seeing some of these .
